ResearchCETE has been involved in research on workforce development for nearly 40 years, beginning with the establishment of a national Center for Advanced Study and Research in Agricultural Education at the Ohio State University in 1963. As the National Center for Research in Vocational Education, the organization produced a substantial body of research ranging from gender equity in employment to program improvement to outcomes of vocational education for special populations. Continuing this tradition, CETE is a partner in the consortium that operates the National Research Center for Career and Technical Education. Research informs the development of Integrated Technical and Academic Competencies and Preparing Better Teachers for Tomorrow (performance-based teacher education modules). CETE has also undertaken research on workforce education and training needs for employers and policymakers. Below are some representative projects and publications relating to CETEs Research. Related Research ProjectsA Study of the Applied Technology Education/Training Needs and Delivery Strategies in the Wasatch Front South Service Area documented the adequacy of existing applied technology education services in the service area, analyzed the need for an applied technology center, and created a model to address similar issues in other service areas.
